Judy Maurer

RECEPTIONIST & DEAN'S ASSISTANT Judy Maurer is the "cathedral concierge" and first person you see upon entering the Cathedral House or talk to when calling the church. Before she came to St. John's, she was an executive secretary in the high-tech venture capital world of San Francisco, then retired with her husband to Jacksonville. Judy is also the dean's assistant and does Dean Kate's calendaring and manages her meeting schedule, as well as setting up for small groups, helping prepare church mailings, ordering supplies and much more. Judy can help you find the right staff person to assist with anything you need. She also welcomes daily visitors for services, tours and individual visits

DIRECTOR OF PARISH LIFE Sue Engemann shepherds volunteers, coordinates baptisms, weddings, funerals and other special events, handles membership records, facilities rental and much more. Call Sue with any questions about lay ministry opportunities and how to become more engaged in the church.

FACILITIES MANAGER Tim Engemann maintains the cathedral's building and grounds, works with maintenance contractors, supervises our sextons, keeps our HVAC and sound systems working and takes care of all our facilities needs, large and small. He works in partnership with our properties committee.

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR Helen Likins produces our Sunday bulletins, our e-newsletter, seasonal collections of meditations, PowerPoint presentations for many of our adult classes and more. Meredith Cataland

BOOKKEEPER Meredith Cataland manages the cathedral's finances. She monitors the budget, processes donations and pledges and pays the bills. She also provides all information needed for our annual financial audit. She sends parishioners contribution statements quarterly and updates staff and Vestry regarding expenses and revenue throughout the year. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Tina Hutcheson serves as our all-around assistant to the office staff and clergy. She has the best Georgia accent and a contagious laugh that will make you smile every time you hear it.

Gloria Miller

DIRECTOR OF PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT Gloria Miller plays an important part in nurturing new Cathedral programs so as to ensure that they thrive by engaging those within our Cathedral and in the greater community. She helps grow the existing programs for our cathedral as well. She and her husband Tim, are members of St. John's. Gloria is also an integral part of the Family Promise program.

CANON FOR MUSIC Timothy Tuller is a native of Elmira, New York, and a summa cum laude graduate of Ithaca College. Tim earned his Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he received the valedictory prize. Previously the Music Associate at the Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham, Alabama, Tim has more than 16 years experience playing service music in Christian denominations. Tim is our organist and directs our Cathedral Choir and the Choristers program.

Pam Searcy

CHILDREN'S MUSIC DIRECTOR Pam Searcy assists Tim Tuller with our Chorister Program and leads our Junior Choristers. She also leads music for Children's Chapel.

Kathryn Bissette

BOOKSTORE MANAGER Kathryn Bissette operates our Gift Shop and Bookstore, just off the cathedral's office area. The bookstore is open after all Sunday services and during the week during our regular office hours.

Anice Brown

SEXTON Anice Brown works through the week making sure the cathedral is clean, rooms are set up properly for events and chapels are ready for daily communion services.

Marie Tarver

SEXTON Marie Tarver has served St. John's for more than 25 years. She helps in many ways including providing service at weddings.

Freddie Jackson

ASSISTANT SEXTON Freddie Jackson came to St. John's Cathedral through Fresh Ministries Youth Summer Employment program. He did such a good job we offered him part-time work while he is in high school. He assists us on Wednesday nights and during other times.

Heather Treadwell

CATHEDRAL CHEF Heather Treadwell cooks our Wonderful Wednesday suppers and also provides meals for small luncheon, parties and other parish events. She is a phenomenal cook! Her talents are a blessing to our whole parish.

Devanne Jones

YOUTH ACTIVITES COORDINATOR Devanne Jones Devanne is a Jacksonville native and a cradle Episcopalian. She recently graduated from the University of North Florida with a bachelor’s degree in English. While there, she helped to found the Episcopalian campus ministry – the Osprey Episcopalians – and became a peer minister. In 2012 she was a counselor at Camp Weed Summer Camp. Devanne has also participated in, and helped to facilitate, both Happening and Vocare.

Jasmine Lindsey

NURSERY WORKER Jasmine Lindsey is part of the team that cares for infants and toddlers in our nursery. Our nursery is open during every service and for special events.

Rita Diaz Decolenares

NURSERY WORKER Rita Diaz Decolmenares provides loving care to infants and toddlers in our nursery. She speaks fluent Spanish.


Alicia Fields

NURSERY WORKER Alicia fields is part of the team that cares for infants and toddlers in our nursery. She also teaches at The Cathedral School with Jasmine.
