The Cathedral is important to me in several ways: as the historical and spiritual center of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida, as a cornerstone of downtown Jacksonville’s history, and as an opportunity for the Episcopal Church to reach out to the poor in and around the city center who need our help.

St. John's Cathedral means that I live in community with people who are supporting me as I align my life with God. It also means I have friends and family with whom I serve Christ. Over the years, St. John’s has given me amazing gifts of service and friends, as well as challenges, counsel and peace.

The Cathedral is a community. It is a place where I feel God’s presence in a way that I sometimes miss as I move through the business of everyday life. The Cathedral is where I have cherished friends and continue to make friends who support our family and me in our relationship with God.

The Cathedral is a place with wonderful people who are the foundation for all its ministries. I have been asked me in various ministries and I have accepted where I was able. The support and well wishes that I received while at Cursillo this year was overwhelming and truly heart-warming.
